Hello Everyone!
My name is Lucner Monexe. I am a Pastor and founder of Foundation Rehoboth, which is a Church/Orphanage but more like a big family. It all started in July 2004 after I left a mission/orphanage for which I worked my entire adult life, with no intentions to start an orphanage or a church, although as an adult, I went to theology school. But after leaving, many of the children followed me home and I could not throw them out. So, I let them stay. This how the work started. My family and I moved out of the house to a much much unfinished smaller one in order to house the children where there was more space.
Today, we have 10 children and counting. We are planning on taking in more, especially after the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010 that left many orphans without a home.
After the orphanage started, we started to do church services at home and people in the area started to come. When they come, they usually expect at least some coffee and some bread, something to eat after the service. Although we can't do it every Sunday, because of lack of funds, when we can, we give them something after the service. When we we can't do it, they usually come and ask. Especially after the earthquake. Many can't afford to eat, unless someone helps. On Sundays, we also have a lot children who come to Sunday school and spend the day with us.
We currently do not have a church/orphanage building or a van. We live and worship at the house where we started and worship under a tent in the front yard.
We can never do this alone without the help of friends and individuals who have in their heart to help us. Please help us at least give a plate of food to our children and church members on Sundays.
